ONKOCET Ltd. has exhibited the devices from its portfolio on the MEDTEC UK exhibition in Birmingham, April 2011 through our partner Medical & Partners.
1.1 Overview
Localization devices are of the main components of SGS. Its function is to build a 3-dimention coordinate mapping between patient and equipment. Localization devices are to be used to accurately define the shape, size and the position of the target in diagnosis scanning (the supporting software which is developed by Shenzhen Hyper Technology Incorporation should be used). In treatment repositioning, the localization devices can restore the target to its original position, and thus accurate multi-repositioning can be realized.
Operating and using localization devices properly is the precondition of ensuring correct treatment planning and realizing precise radiotherapy. The doctors and nurses who use localization devices should be familiar with the fundamental principles, operation and maintenance requirements of the localization devices.
This chapter aims to provide detailed and practical operation guidance about localization devices for doctors and nurses.
1.2 Components
The localization devices are classified as Head Localization Devices and Body Localization Devices:
A. Head Localization Devices are composed of Primary High Precision Head Localization Device and Multi Repetitive Head Localization Device:
· Primary High Precision Head Localization Device is mainly composed of head frame, fixed head pin, MRI/CT frame, MRI/CT adapter rack, etc.
· Multi Repetitive Head Localization Device includes repetitive Localization Device, headrest, thermoplastic mask, etc.
B. Body Localization Device can do repositioning repeatedly. Human body fixation has two types: vacuum cushion and thermoplastic mask.
Body Localization Device includes localization couch, repositioning device, vacuum cushion (or mask), armrest, etc. Localization couch is the basic component of head localization and body localization.

Localization Couch Trolley
The trolley is mainly used in repositioning and patients getting on or getting out of the bed before/after treatment. The localization couch adapted guideway is installed on the top of the trolley. On the surface of the guideway, a row of rollers are arranged evenly on it. The front of the trolley is equipped with locking device which can make getting on or getting out of the trolley conveniently. The height of the trolley can be adjusted manually. The surface of the guide way is 500-850mm high from the ground. (see Figure 4.11)
