ONKOCET Ltd. has exhibited the devices from its portfolio on the MEDTEC UK exhibition in Birmingham, April 2011 through our partner Medical & Partners.
ADVANTAGES OF THE METHOD:
1. Electrical impedance mammography is a simple, affordable and inexpensive method; it is radiation-free and non-invasive. In addition to visual assessment the method enables the examiner to carry out a quantitative evaluation of the mammograms, which is extremely important in differential diagnostics of various breasts states and their pathologies.
2. The method has no contraindications and can be used as often as requited which is very important for case monitoring of women with breast pathologies as well as for case management, assigning of combined oral contraceptives or hormone replacements therapy.
3. It allows to examine pregnant women and puerpera.
4. The electrical impedance mammograph can be used in inpatient and outpatient departments of hospitals, maternity welfare centres, doctors’ offices and other institutions of public health. Thanks to its portability and compactness the device can be used for breast examination in remote areas, which lack stationary equipment.
5. Diagnostic characteristics
The electroimpedance computer mammograph MEIK makes it possible to obtain following types of the information:
5.1. The Image: Computer reconstruction of a three-dimensional distributions of electrical conductivity in the form of 7 tomographic planes within the range of 0.4 cm - 4.6 cm of depth into the examined object
5.2. Digit: The mammograph makes it possible to evaluate the state of the object under examination using quantitative characteristics (mean electrical conductivity, a degree of deviation, minimal and maximal values).
5.3. The Histogram: The histograms enable the examiner to compare the state of the object under examination with the norm.
5.4. 3-D the image: It makes it possible to define the form, the sizes of the tumour and extension of tumour process.
6. Operational characteristics
6.1. Sensitivity - 92 %
6.2. Specificity - 99 %
6.3. Prognostic value of positive result - 73 %
6.4. Prognostic value of negative result - 99 %
7. Performance data
7.1. The mammograph maintains a long-term nonstop operation during 8 hours under constant load.
7.2. Time for performance of one scanning cycle does not exceed 25 seconds
7.3. Time for the image reconstruction performance does not exceed 35 seconds (depends on characteristics of the personal computer).
7.4. Time for performance of examination in a screening mode - 3-5 minutes per one patient.
7.5. Time for performance of a routine examination - 15-20 minutes per one patient.
7.6. The software features an aic prompting to facilitate the diagnosis procedure.
7.7. The obtained data are archived and can be E-mailed for receiving an expert’s opinion on-line.
7.8. A warranty period on Mammograph MEIK is 2 years from the date of putting it into operation.
8. The devices come with a 5-year guarantee of non-failure operation of its electronic components.
